Arts & Culture

The Beloit Art Center, located downtown, is a buzzing place for up and coming artists or anyone interested in the arts. Throughout the year, the Art Center hosts a number of exhibitions and art shows in their beautiful, spacious galleries. They feature local artists working with a number of art media ranging from water color and oil paint to photography. The exhibitions are generally free and open to the public, and a number of pieces are available for purchase. Bring your friends and family to the Beloit Art Center Plein Air Group for a day – the group meets at a scheduled location and paints together. De-stress and get your creativity flowing. You might even win the “Ridiculous Paint Brush Award” for the most creative artwork.

The Beloit Janesville Orchestra hosts concerts and events featuring live orchestra music. This is their 65th year, and the orchestra will once again offer a number of unique performances. Every year, they present Pops on the Rock. The event is always held on 4th of July at Riverside Park. Attend this free concert and celebrate Independence Day with great music and brilliant fireworks. Other concerts throughout the year feature pianists, violinists, and other forms of classical music.

The Ironworks Golf Lab is a state-of-the-art indoor golf and entertainment facility. Making every golfer’s dream come true, it offers an HD simulator that lets you choose from over 80 golf courses, from all around the world. Practice putting and chipping at world-famous courses you have always wanted to visit. The Lab isn’t just for golfers – their Visual Sports Simulators offer 14 games for you to choose from including baseball, football, basketball, and in case you’re preparing for an apocalypse – zombie dodgeball!

In the mood for solving a mystery? Escape Quest has four different escape rooms and each is family-friendly. Gather a group of friends or family members (children are welcome) and put your thinking caps on to solve puzzles, find clues, work together, and get to the bottom of a missing person mystery! Each of the rooms offers a different, timed scenario. Can you and your group beat the timer and escape successfully?

Beloit also offers ice skating at the Edwards Ice Arena, October through March. Whether you prefer paintings, classical music, or sports, you’ll be happy to celebrate the arts and culture at Beloit.
