Visit Beloit’s Future Building Project
March 3, 2021
After more than three years in our temporary office space at the Eclipse Center, the Visit Beloit team has moved into the former St. Paul’s Catholic Church and Angel Museum at 656 Pleasant St.
The building was purchased from the City of Beloit in January of 2020 with a two-phase plan for renovation and construction.
Phase one included the conversion of the basement into office space, improvements to the kitchen and bathrooms, exterior modifications, and a complete renovation of the main floor into an event venue. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the organization’s finances, the remaining renovations on the main floor will happen at a future time. In addition, a future 7,900 sq. ft. office complex addition is planned to be constructed within the second phase of this project.
“This project has been a labor of love, and I am ecstatic that Visit Beloit will have its own building for the first time in its history,” said Celestino Ruffini, Visit Beloit CEO. “There were many challenges in getting this first phase completed, with the greatest one of all being, the pandemic. Nonetheless, we look forward to welcoming visitors and residents to our new home.”
Visit Beloit’s new office and eventual event space will be an impressive addition to other developments in the downtown area, including the Beloit College Powerhouse and ABC Supply Stadium.
Residents and visitors are welcome to check out the building, Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5:00p.
