Team World is the nation’s largest sanctioned team horseshoe pitching tournament where 4-player teams from a specific state or Canada compete in head-to-head competition for state or national pride as they pursue to capture the Team World traveling trophy and bragging rights as Team World Champions. Several states sponsor their best horseshoe pitchers to compete in this tournament. The event is held each year in May during the weekend that follows Mother’s Day. The weekend of pitching includes a round-robin format that starts on Friday and culminates into a 7-team finals bracket on Sunday to determine the champions. The Beloit Horseshoe Club has been hosting this event on 24 portable clay courts inside the Edwards Activity Center at Telfer Park since 1990. There is plenty of seating to watch and food and drinks are available for purchase. There is no admission charge to watch this competition.
