Friends at Beloit Library (FABL) will host its annual meeting and program at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 in the Community Room at Beloit Public Library, located at 605 Eclipse Boulevard.

The event will begin with a short annual business meeting, followed by a presentation from author Greg Peck. Many people will remember Peck as a fixture at The Janesville Gazette, having had a nearly three-decade-long tenure there – serving as the Sunday editor for more than 15 years, and opinion page editor for more than 13 years – before retiring in 2016. He earned numerous awards throughout his career.

Peck also is a former board member and longtime member of the Wisconsin Writers Association. He has authored several books, including Memories of Marshall; Death Beyond the Willows; and, his newest release, Snakes, Squirrels & Bears, Oh My! Peck will have copies of his books available for sale at the event.

This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

FABL is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that raises funds through the sale of discarded library books and donated books. Donations that are clean and in good condition are always welcome. FABL supports projects and special programs at the library for adults and children. FABL has approved a donation of $20,330 to Beloit Public Library for the 2023 fiscal year.
