Hotel Goodwin Is Now Open!
The photo above shows a chic and edgy guest room in the newly-opened Hotel Goodwin. Named for the 19th-century Goodwin House that served as a luxury hotel in downtown Beloit until 1904, Hotel Goodwin features 34 guest rooms, including two suites and a fitness center, while also offering a rooftop meeting room with outdoor terrace in a gorgeous, historic 1923 building located on the corner of Pleasant Street and Public Avenue in the heart of Downtown Beloit, Wisconsin.
Velvet Buffalo Café Now Open!
Velvet Buffalo Café combines the décor of a turn-of-the-century European café with subtle contemporary nuances. The chef driven menu will focus on local farmers and artisan vendors, all centered on a stone lined oven burning at 700 degrees The in-house wine bar will offer a carefully curated selection of wines by the glass from all parts of the globe as well as an extensive bottle list. Velvet Buffalo Café will be open 7 days a week from 5-10 p.m. and provide in-room dining and catered events in the rooftop space above Hotel Goodwin.
truk’t Street Tacos, Tequila and Whiskey Opening in October!
The menu at truk’t will feature flavors from around the world found in their street tacos, tequila and whiskey selection, and unique craft cocktails, including scotch and mezcal cocktails. The laid-back atmosphere will be the perfect spot for socializing and tasting one-of-a-kind recipes.

Pedestrian Bridge Now Open!
This foot-traffic-only bridge located behind Ironworks Hotel reaches across the river and connects pedestrians to the Ironworks campus and the city’s network of river trails. The Ironworks campus is home to several businesses including the Beloit Chamber of Commerce and the new Stateline Family YMCA.
G5 Brewing Company Opening This Fall 2018!
Ground was broken in October for G5 Brewing Company of Beloit. This brewery is a legacy project for a family of five Gunderson’s. It will be built in their hometown at 1801 Gateway Boulevard. Brewhouse consultant and nationally certified Master Beer Judge, Keith Symonds, was hired to help establish the G5 Brewing brand. The Gateway brewery will feature a 10-barrel brewing system, up to 10 regular and seasonal brews, and aims to grow by 10,000 barrels annually. The brewery and restaurant will collectively employ 50 to 70 full-time workers in a 9,750-square-foot facility. CTA Architects Engineers, based out of Montana, will head up the construction, which is a group that has built similar facilities in the past.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Opening This Fall 2018!
Home2 Suites by Hilton will feature 102 hotel rooms along with a boardroom and large conference room that can seat over 100 people. The hotel will also feature pet-friendly rooms and plans are already underway to add several electric vehicle charging stations for travelers.
Nature at the Confluence Now Open!
This 34.4-acre park and learning center just south of the border in South Beloit combines hands-on learning in ecology and science with recreational hiking, biking, boating, and agility in the form of a ropes course.
Beloit College Powerhouse Opening in in Fall 2019!
The Powerhouse is a $38 million project that re-purposes the decommissioned Blackhawk Generating Station on the Rock River into a 130,000-square-foot student center to include a fitness center, pool, track, health & wellness center, meeting space, lecture hall and movie theater. Complete by Fall 2019.
