Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and beyond with various events in the Stateline Area!
BELOIT, Wis. – March in the Stateline Area is filled with St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans, festive events, and fun activities for everyone to enjoy, including family-friendly options and adult-only events, all while welcoming the arrival of spring.
“From shopping to watching movies to St. Patrick’s Day events, and more, there’s something to do in the Stateline Area every day of the week,” says Savannah Schindler, Public Relations Specialist with Visit Beloit. “Not only are there exciting events in March, but there are also many more to look forward to throughout the year!” In addition to these major March events, visit our website for more details on other community happenings.
Winter Crafter & Farmers’ Market | Every Saturday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., November – April | Downtown Beloit Association
- The Beloit Farmers’ Market continues year-round, even though the open-air market is over for the season! Visit to purchase produce, cheese, eggs, honey, meat, crafts, soaps, and other miscellaneous items. Grab lunch from the food truck while you are there and look for free, family-friendly activities in the market.
Public Ice Skating | Fridays & Saturdays, 7-9 p.m. & Sundays 2-4 p.m. | Edwards Ice Arena
- Stop by Edwards Ice Arena throughout the winter for ice skating fun! Public skating sessions are available Friday through Sunday until March. If you don’t have your own skates, rentals are available for just $3 per pair. For those who need extra help on the ice, skate aids are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. A small fee applies to participate in the skate sessions.
Wine Workshop Wednesday | Every Wednesday, 5:30-6:30 p.m. | Hidden Creek Estates
- Every Wednesday through the end of March, join Jared Malavolti, Director of Operations and Sommelier, for an interactive learning wine class. Each session is $10 and features a fun blind-tasting experience. Hidden Creek Estates also offers a variety of unique events in March, including a St. Patrick’s Day Cocktail Class on March 7-8 from 6:30-9 p.m.
Next Stop Comedy | March 1, 8-9:30 p.m. | G5 Brewing Company
- Next Stop Comedy returns to G5 Brewing Company with an exciting new lineup of comics for a night of laughter. Tickets are $25 for this adult-only event and can be purchased online. The show will feature comedians who have appeared on TV and heard on popular podcasts. Enjoy dinner before the show and sip on craft beer while laughing with friends.
Vintage Shop Hop | March 7-8, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Various Stateline Area Shops
- Shop till you drop during the spring edition of the Vintage Shop Hop, a semi-annual event featuring more than 400 vintage shops, barn sales, and boutiques across Wisconsin and Illinois. Many Stateline Area shops will participate, offering great deals and promotions.
First Friday Opening Reception | March 7, 5-7 p.m. | Beloit Art Center
- Support Beloit’s local and regional artists at the Beloit Art Center on the first Friday of each month. Meet the featured artists during introductions, which begin at 6pm. The event is free and open to the public, with refreshments available. Each month, new artists are showcased, and their works are on display.
Irish Whiskey Dinner | March 12, 6-8:30 p.m. | The Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin
- For upscale dining and St. Patrick’s fun, purchase tickets for the Irish Whiskey Dinner at The Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin. Enjoy a four-course, Ireland-inspired meal with pours of Jameson and various Irish whiskies, all while taking in the spectacular views of downtown Beloit.
St. Patrick’s Day Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner | March 15, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. | South Beloit Businessmen’s Hall
- Enjoy a festive meal while supporting a great cause. Mary’s Place Custom Catering is serving a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner featuring generous portions of corned beef or ham, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and dessert. Dine in or carryout – the event runs until 7 p.m. or until it’s gone, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Beloit Meals on Wheels.
St. Patrick’s Day Drag Show | March 15, 5:30-11 p.m. | The Castle at 501 Prospect
- Support the LGBTQIA+ community at the St. Patrick’s Day Drag Show, hosted by Yellow Brick Road at The Castle at 501 Prospect. This fundraiser will feature raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle, vendors, and free confidential HIV testing provided by Vivent Health. Tickets for the 18+ event are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m. After the show, join the dance party!
Shamrockathon | March 15, 7-11 p.m. | 5BAR
- 5BAR is throwing a St. Patrick’s Day party with four live bands to get you in the festive spirit! Join the fun with friends at this 21+ event, held in the recently renovated back room of the bar. Tickets are available at the door or online for $10.
Hometown Conversations | March 20, 6:30-8 p.m. | Colonel Robert H Morse Library
- For those who grew up in Beloit, this event is for you! Join the discussion on what it was like growing up in the community, with March’s topic focusing on “Growing Up Irish in Beloit,” featuring special guest Mathew Goodwin. Presented by the Beloit Historical Society, the event will be held in the lower level of the Beloit College library.
Beloit International Film Festival | March 28 – April 6 | Various Downtown Beloit Venues
The Beloit International Film Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary during this year’s film festival. The 10-day event showcases the power of independent film from around the globe, featuring 100 movie screenings at various downtown Beloit venues. Experience the rich diversity of international films, including many award-winning titles, and meet independent filmmakers from the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
