Beloit Winterfest

Looking to beat those winter blues? The City of Beloit Parks and Recreation Division is holding its annual Beloit Winterfest celebration Jan. 26-28, 2024. The City of Beloit is thrilled to offer these recreation opportunities for families to get out and enjoy winter in Beloit. It’s a weekend full of fun winter activities for the whole family!

2024 Activities:


BINGO

Special games and prizes! Open to members and guests of all ages.

When: 1-2:15 pm, Friday, January 26
Where: Grinnell Hall Senior Center, 631 Bluff St.
Registration: Required, call 608-364-2875 or stop by front desk

OPEN SKATE

Join us for a fun evening of open skate!

When: 7-9pm, Friday, January 26
Where: Edwards Ice Arena, 2101 Cranston Road
Cost: Youth 17 and under: $4.50 resident/$5 nonresident; Adult: $5 resident/$6 nonresident; Skate rentals: $3


MAKE & TAKE CRAFTS

Stop by the Downtown Beloit Association building. During the Farmers’ Market, children can make crafts to take home.

When: 9am-noon, Saturday, January 27
Where: Beloit Winter Farmers’ Market, 557 E. Grand Ave.
Cost: FREE


SLED DOG DEMONSTRATION

Join us for a unique and educational event. Visit with a dog sled team of dogs and their musher from Free Spirit Siberian Rescue. Learn about the sport of dog sledding and watch various demonstrations.

When: 11am-2pm, Saturday, January 27
Where: Leeson Park, 2200 Milwaukee Road
Cost: FREE


WINTER DAZZLE DAY

Enjoy an outdoor hike and scavenger hunt, craft a tie-dyed snowflake, listen to a children’s story, and learn about identifying animal tracks. Warm up around the blazing fire with hot chocolate and tea! A limited supply of snowshoes will be available to try out (conditions permitting).

When: 1pm-2:30pm, Saturday, January 27
Where: Nature at The Confluence, 306 Dickop St.

GAMES AND HOT CHOCOLATE BAR

Enjoy games and cozy up with free hot chocolate from our hot chocolate bar! This event is for ages 2-10.

When: 1-3pm, Saturday, January 27
Where: Beloit Public Library, 605 Eclipse Blvd.
Cost: Free


SQUISHY EVENT

Join us for a fun filled afternoon of crafting at Hammer & Stain Stateline! We will be bringing you a hot cocoa paint & sip as part of the Beloit Winterfest! Come stuff a squishy and paint a ceramic to match your new friend! Our squishy events are always popular and fill up quick!

Each child attending this event needs to be registered for a squishy.
There are no refunds for cancellations for this specialty event.

When: 3pm, Saturday, January 27

Beloit SKY CARP’S Poopsie’s Polar Party

Check Out the indoor batting practice area, enjoy storytime with Poopsie, and make Sky Carp Crafts! Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.

When: 3-5pm, Saturday, January 27
Where: ABC Supply Stadium, 217 Shirland Ave.

SLEIGH RIDE, BONFIRE & S’MORES

What says winter better than a sleigh ride through the woods? Come on out to Big Hill for a chance to ride on a horse-drawn sleigh through Big Hill Park. Welty Environmental Center will be hosting the bonfire and s’mores.

When: 11am-1pm, Sunday, January 28
Where: Big Hill Park, 1201 Big Hill Road

OPEN SWIM

Splash and play in the YMCA pool with the whole family. All children ages 17 & under must be accompanied by an adult. All children ages 6 and under must have an adult in the water with them at all times

When: 1pm-3:30pm, Sunday, January 28
Where: Stateline Family YMCA, 1865 Riverside Dr.
Cost: $3/Person; $10/Family of 4

Downtown Beloit
Various free activities, crafts, and giveaways at Downtown Beloit businesses

Sledding at Hospital Hill

Hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing;
Big Hill Park & Turtle Creek Greenway. Check out snowshoes from Beloit Public Library (as supplies are available).

Fat tire biking; new 2.5 mile Deerfield mountain bike trail (entrance at Sarah Lane and Deerfield Drive). Fat bikes with at least 3.8-inch wide tires and helmets are required.
