Meet the Team

Meet the team of travel and tourism professionals who promote the travel industry in Beloit, Wisconsin, encouraging visitors to explore and experience the city and making economic impacts that benefit the whole community.

Celestino Ruffini

Celestino Ruffini

Chief Executive Officer

Celestino has been a lifelong resident of the Midwest. He was born and raised in central Illinois and fueled his passion for tourism in Indiana, where he graduated from Purdue University with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. He later returned to Illinois to become a strong advocate for the industry and has since planted roots right here in Wisconsin. For seven years, Celestino served as the director of sales and marketing in Galena, Illinois, one of the leading destinations in the state. Lucky for us, he joined the Visit Beloit team in the summer of 2015 as the executive director. He is thrilled to serve the Beloit region as the chief “people connector” – ensuring consumers have the Beloit region top-of-mind, connecting businesses to one of the primary industries in the U.S., and pursuing excellence among staff and board members as we strive to be a leading destination in the Midwest.

He resides in Beloit with his wife and son and is dedicated to enjoying all that life offers.

Personally, he enjoys exploring off-the-beaten-path restaurants, geocaching throughout the region, spending time downtown with his family, and watching the community come together to celebrate at events and festivals.

Matt Bosen

Matthew Bosen

Director of Sales & Servicing

Matthew is the youngest of two brothers and was born and raised in Collinsville, Illinois. He attended Southeast Missouri State University and earned a degree in sport management with a minor in business administration. He has called Beloit home since December 2007 when he took a job with the Beloit Snappers. He has been with Visit Beloit since October of 2013. As the director of sales and servicing, his main goal is to attract groups and tournaments to the City of Beloit and to help make sure that all of our visitors have a quality experience.

He resides in Beloit with his wife and energetic dog, Astro. Matt is always willing to talk sports and has visited almost every MLB stadium in the country.

He recommends catching a Beloit Sky Carp game at ABC Supply Stadium, enjoying a craft beer and a great view of the river at The Rock Bar & Grill, and hanging out in Riverside Park for a free concert on Friday night!

Terri White

Terri White

Director of Visitor Services

Terri’s passion for people and all things Wisconsin brings her back to the Visit Beloit team in 2019. She previously co-managed the Beloit Travel Wisconsin Welcome Center from 2011 – 2017 and is thrilled to be back now as Director of Visitor Services at the Welcome Center.

Her enthusiasm for tourism began at The Angel Museum, where she worked as a Tour Coordinator, greeting visitors and ensuring a joy-filled visit for all. Her love for the hospitality industry grew, and she now enjoys leading her team of Travel Information Specialists at the busiest Welcome Center in the state!

Terri was born and raised in Beloit and is in love with her community. She is a cheerleader not only for Beloit but for the whole state of Wisconsin. Road trips to Green Bay to see her grandchildren and visits to Door County with her husband in the fall are her favorites!

She personally recommends Friday night fish at The Mouse Tavern, leisurely walks along the river at Riverside Park, and indulging in delicious ice cream treats at La Michoacana Tropical Oasis in South Beloit.

Tracy Bliss

Tracy Bliss

Director of Marketing & Public Relations

Tracy, born and raised in Beloit, brings more than 20 years of marketing experience. She most recently owned her own graphic design business and has worked with community partners, such as the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation, Downtown Beloit Association, and Beloit Chamber of Commerce. She has provided services to a number of greater Beloit businesses and organizations, including the Rock County Development Alliance and the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra.

Tracy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and is a proud alumna of the Leadership Development Academy of Rock County.

On the summer weekends, Tracy recommends live music and lunch at Fridays in the Park, followed by an evening of Music at Harry’s Place and a nightcap at Merrill & Houston’s or on the Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin. With her husband and three boys, she enjoys our award-winning Farmers’ Market, visiting the parks, attending Movies on the Big Lawn, and Sky Carp minor league baseball games.

Savannah Schindler

Savannah Schindler

Public Relations Specialist

Savannah was born and raised in the Beloit area. Her passion for the hospitality industry started at a young age through traveling with her family. She had her first job at the Beloit Club, which further fueled her interest. She earned her degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. During her time there, she participated in the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) UW-Stout Collegiate Chapter.

She resides in South Beloit, IL, and enjoys adventuring to local hidden gems in the Beloit area and sharing her discoveries with others.

During the summer months, you can find Savannah at all things music-related. She highly recommends outdoor concerts at the annual Old Settlers Days event in June, put on by the Rockton Lions Club, and live band performances at Harry’s Place accompanied by a peaceful boat ride on the Rock River.

Martha Mitchell, former executive director of Visit Beloit, was a Beloiter through and through. Her passion and love for Beloit was evident through her involvement with Friends of RiverFront, Roy Chapman Andrews Society, Stateline Community Foundation, plus many other non-profit organizations during her career and in retirement. Martha’s love for her work at Visit Beloit helped set the stage for the destination we all enjoy today. We are eternally grateful for Martha’s service to Beloit and the state line region which you can read all about in this memorial book.
