13th Annual Maple Sugar Festival
Saturday February 23, 2019 • 8 am 12 pm
Maple Sugar Fest is an annual family-friendly event that provides a morning full of maple sugar fun!
The event is held at the Welty Environmental Center in Big Hill Park. Some of the activities include: tree tapping and sap boiling demonstrations, crafts, guided hikes, basket weaving, make-your-own maple sugar candy, and—of course—a pancake breakfast served with real maple syrup, sausage, fruit, and hot drinks!
Hopefully the sap will be running. For that to happen, the temperatures have to hit 35 to 40 degrees for a few days running, at least.
The demonstrations show how complicated the maple sugar making process truly is—it can take years to master!
$8 adults/ $3 kids (age 2-12).
