Looking to beat those winter blues? The City of Beloit Parks and Recreation Division is holding its annual Beloit Winterfest celebration Jan. 21-24, 2021, with safe socially distanced events.
While this year’s event will look different then years past, the City of Beloit is thrilled to offer these recreation opportunities for families to get out and enjoy winter in Beloit.
The Beloit Parks and Recreation Division made significant adjustments in order to hold this event in 2021. Social distancing and remaining with your own household is highly recommended and encouraged.
“No Snow” Man Building Contest
You don’t need snow on the ground to build a snowman! Gather basic household items and build your snowman indoors. The winner will receive a prize bag filled with goodies. The winner will be notified by January 26.
Deadline: 3pm Sunday, January 24
Put on as many shirts or sweaters as you can at one time. Once you are all bundled up take a picture and send it to us. The person with the most clothing will win a prize bag filled with goodies!

Family Virtual BINGO
Take part in a fun game of BINGO while still wearing your PJs. Beloit Parks and Rec will provide you a telephone conference call line where the BINGO will be called. Winners must take a picture of their cards and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Winners will be mailed their prize.

Deadline: Friday, January 15th to receive card via mail; Wednesday, January 20th to request card for pickup. All cards bust be picked up at Grinnell Hall Senior Center, 631 Bluff St., by 4pm Thursday, January 21. Someone will be in the office for a socially distanced pick up between 9am and 4pm Monday through Friday.
Cocoa & Canvas
Create your own masterpiece at home while sipping on hot chocolate! Kits include all supplies and step by step instructions to complete one canvas creation and hot chocolate.
When: Pickup 4-6pm Thursday at Rotary River Center, 1160 Riverside Drive (socially distanced drive through)

Beloit Park put a little twist on the traditional game by using a tennis ball as your ball and the snow as your tee! We encourage golfers of all ages and all abilities to participate. Reservations are required. All reservations are for 9 holes walking and the rate applies for all ages. No passes of any kind will be accepted. Updated COVID-19 guidelines will be in place and social distancing will be required.

“Welty Winder” Scavenger Hunt
Can you find them all? Test your knowledge and go on a hunt throughout the City of Beloit with your family. The Welty Environmental Center will take you on a journey with 20 total clues. Share your journey on social media using the hashtags #BeloitWinterfest, #WeltyWinder and #BeloitWI.
When: Friday, January 22, through Sunday, January 24
Where: The first clue will be waiting for you at the First National Bank Plaza (northeast corner of Grand Avenue and State Street) on January 22.
Mystery Book Bag
Check out age-appropriate books for your child! Beloit Library staff will select books for a “Mystery Book Bag” to take home. A valid library card is required; if you don’t have one you can sign up for a card at the library during normal business hours. When: Pickup Saturday, January 23 (hours 9:30am to 5:30pm)
