Fun-Filled Beloit Farmers’ Market Guide

Beloit Farmers' Market

The Beloit Farmers’ Market is an annual highlight for folks, both locals and visitors. There’s something about being outside, checking out the local products, and enjoying all sorts of family-fun activities that make it worth the wait each year.

Every Saturday, from 8am-1pm, downtown Beloit draws over 4,000 visitors each week on State Street and Grand Avenue. With over 130 vendors participating, it’s the second-largest farmers’ market in Wisconsin, right after Dane County. Rain or shine, from May through October, this award-winning tradition ensures an exciting experience for all.

We’ve got a guide to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the fun! Happy shopping!

1. Shop for Fresh Produce

Plans for dinner? Grab fresh ingredients at the farmer’s market! Vendors sell anything you can imagine, from ripe tomatoes to herbs, juicy watermelons, meats, farm-fresh eggs, and, of course, cheese! You’ll find a variety of produce, with new options popping up each week as farmers harvest in-season goods. Don’t forget to tote along your cooler bag to keep your finds fresh as you browse throughout the market! If you don’t have a bag, you can purchase a reusable bag for just $5 at the information booth.

2. Discover Local Artisanal Products

At the Beloit Farmers’ Market, you’ll discover various handmade items, from jams, jellies, spices, and sauces to artisan purses, soaps, dog accessories, and beyond. It’s the ultimate destination for one-of-a-kind gifts, whether you’re treating yourself or hunting for the perfect gift. Picture it as a blend of a craft fair and a food haven, all into one! Be sure to pick up a lovely bouquet of flowers, too!

3. Enjoy Live Music

Every week, musicians take the stage at the gantry, adding a lively atmosphere to the market. It’s not just about shopping; it’s an entertainment hotspot. Families can gather at picnic tables, with food trucks and vendors nearby offering delicious bites to enjoy alongside the tunes. Grab a meal and groove along to the music! It’s the perfect spot to relax.

4. Meet the Farmers & Artisans

Stroll around to the different vendors and strike up conversations as you shop. They often offer an inside scoop on what they will be featuring in the market for future dates and might even share suggestions on recipes for your next fresh meal. We take pride in supporting over a hundred local farmers and artisans at the market!

5. Bring the Kids

As you shop, make sure to swing by the balloon animal-making and face-painting station near the corner of Grand Avenue and Pleasant Street. It’s a family-friendly spot where kids can join in on the market excitement, adding some extra fun for the little one as families browse. And the best part? All children’s activities are free!

6. Grab a bitE at food trucks or restaurants

Located near the gantry and throughout the market, you’ll find plenty of tasty treats and lunch options—something for everyone’s tastebuds! There are plenty of food trucks and vendors, offering tacos, mini donuts, cold-pressed juices, seafood, cinnamon-roasted nuts, and more. Snack as you shop, or find a picnic table and enjoy the live music while you eat.

7. Explore the shops downtown

Whether it’s post-market or during your browsing, don’t miss out on exploring the downtown shops. With over 30 specialty shops and boutiques, downtown Beloit offers extra retail therapy! Treat the kids to ice cream or candy at Northwoods Premium Confections, or enjoy some personal shopping. If you are still hungry, stop at one of the restaurant choices scattered throughout downtown for brunch or lunch.
