FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 11, 2026
BELOIT, Wis. – On Saturday, August 8th, players from across the Midwest gathered at Pohlman Field in Beloit, WI, for another exciting Beloit Kubb Open tournament. The twelfth annual event drew 46 teams from six states: Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. Participants ranged from seasoned pros to complete newcomers, making for a diverse tournament. Visit Beloit organized the event, with Dan Ivanuck serving as the event director. Participants and sponsors enjoyed a day of intense competition while spectators cheered them on.
The Beloit Youth Hockey Association was on-site throughout the tournament, selling food and beverages to support its local programs and athletes. Visit Beloit also hosted a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds benefiting the Beloit Youth Hockey Association.
In addition, Beepa’s was this year’s Tourism Champion sponsor of the tournament. Beepa’s is a locally-owned, family-operated business known for its hand-selected produce and family recipes used to craft sauces, pickled vegetables, and more. They provided each player with a chili, goulash, or spaghetti sauce starter, along with koozies and t-shirts.
A new addition to this summer’s tournament welcomed players of all skill levels to compete. During registration, teams could choose between the Competitive Division, featuring seven qualifying rounds, or the Recreational Division, featuring five qualifying rounds. The top teams from each division advanced to the championship round, where champions were crowned in both divisions.
