The Stateline Area has something for everyone, from winter wonders to holiday cheer!
BELOIT, Wis. – The holiday season is here in the Stateline Area, and there are so many fantastic events, from shopping to family fun to educational events and more.
“We’re in the heart of holiday celebrations, and there’s no better way to enjoy the season than by attending the festivities with friends and family in Beloit,” says Savannah Schindler, Public Relations Specialist with Visit Beloit. Winter Crafter & Farmers’ Market | Every Saturday, 9am-12pm, November – April | Downtown Beloit Association
- The Beloit Farmers’ Market continues year-round, even though the open-air market is over for the season! Visit to purchase produce, cheese, eggs, honey, meat, crafts, soaps, and other miscellaneous items. Grab lunch from the food truck while you are there and look for free, family-friendly activities in the market.
Holiday Activities & Events | Throughout December | Williams Tree Farm
- For a fun-filled holiday outing with the whole family, visit Williams Tree Farm. They have a ton of seasonal activities for both children and adults to enjoy. Check our website calendar for events throughout the month of December. Pick out the perfect tree to take home and decorate, have the kids pet the animals, and enjoy shopping when you visit.
Public Ice Skating | Fridays & Saturdays, 7-9pm & Sundays 2-4pm | Edwards Ice Arena
- Stop by Edwards Ice Arena throughout the winter for ice skating fun! Public skating sessions are offered on Friday through Sunday until March. If you don’t have your own skates, rentals are available for just $3 per pair. For those who need extra help on the ice, skate aids are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. A small fee applies to participate in the skate sessions.
Whiskey Wednesdays | December 4, 7-8pm | 5BAR
- For Whiskey connoisseurs, the owner of 5BAR has teamed up with Driftless Glen Distillery in Baraboo, WI, for a tasting. Meet the distillers and enjoy a night of sample pours, light food pairings, signature cocktails, raffle prizes, and more for $20 per person.
Parker Faculty Exhibition Opening Reception | December 6, 12:30pm | Wright Museum of Art
- Join for the opening of La Vie Quotidienne Dans La Francosphère: Francophone Art in Action, a multimedia exhibition created by Joseph Derosier and his French class. This display critiques politics, poetics, and positionality through contemporary art. The event is free and open to the public, with light refreshments provided.
Holiday Tree Lighting | December 6, 4:30-6pm | Nature at The Confluence
- Nature at The Confluence is hosting its annual tree-lighting tradition ceremony, along with marshmallow roasting, hot cocoa, a luminary nature walk, holiday crafts, family photo opportunities, and a caroling performance. This is a free, family-friendly community event.
Downtown Beloit Holidazzle | December 6, 5-9pm | Downtown Beloit
- Spend a night in Downtown Beloit to cross off items on your holiday list! Over 25 local downtown businesses, including artisan vendors, will stay open late. Enjoy free trolley rides, live music, visits with Santa, children’s activities, and festive treats throughout the evening.
Downtown Rockton Christmas Walk | December 6-8 | Downtown Rockton
- Kick off the holiday season at Downtown Rockton’s Christmas Walk, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024! This annual event features activities for the entire family and special events for adults. Enjoy two major highlights: the Lighting of Village Green Park and the Lighted Parade, plus various festive activities throughout the weekend.
Gingerbread Extravaganza | December 7, 9am-1pm | Fran Fruzen Intermediate School
- Bring the family to decorate gingerbread houses at the 11th Annual Gingerbread Extravaganza. Get into the holiday spirit and enjoy a visit with Santa. The family-friendly holiday event raises funds to support Community Action’s neighborhood programs in Rock and Walworth Counties.
Christmas at Macktown | December 8, 2pm | Macktown Living History
- Celebrate an 1840’s-style Christmas at Macktown with a day of festive activities. Create ornaments, explore the Whitman Store to see 1800’s gift ideas, make toys in the Stevens Carpenter Shop, and visit the beautifully decorated Mack House. Admission is $5.
gBETA Beloit Winter 2024 Showcase | December 11, 6-8pm | Irontek
- Join for an evening of innovation and networking while listening to five-minute pitches from business startups in areas like water-tech, e-commerce AI, biotech, and consumer products. Enjoy complimentary appetizers and drinks during the event as well.
Heroes’ Holiday Community Celebration | December 20, 4-8pm | Rotary River Center
- Bring the whole family to the Community Action Inc. event to meet local first responders, including police officers, firefighters, public works staff, and, of course, Santa. Enjoy holiday activities like horse-drawn carriage rides, candlelight hikes, refreshments, and other winter fun.
Winter Solstice Celebration Vendor Event | December 21, 4-8pm | Downtown Beloit Association
- Celebrate the winter solstice in downtown Beloit with unique vendors and seasonal fun. Shop for handcrafted gifts, enjoy hot chocolate, psychic readings, music, and activities for all ages. The event is free to attend.
