American Cornhole Organization Makes its Return to Beloit
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – DECEMBER 5, 2024
BELOIT, Wis. – The American Cornhole Organization (ACO) is scheduled to return to Beloit for the Beloit Major Tournament on January 10th and 11th, 2025. The upcoming tournament will take place at the Eclipse Event Center in Beloit and marks the 20th season of the ACO. The tournament has been held in Beloit each of the past four years and has sold out each year. Visit Beloit and ACO have committed to extending the annual Beloit Major on the calendar through at least 2026.
“We are excited to host our partners from American Cornhole Organization for the fifth consecutive year here in Beloit,” explains Matthew Bosen, Director of Sales & Servicing with Visit Beloit, one of the event coordinators alongside ACO. “They do a great job promoting the event and annually we see more than 100 players from more than 10 states represented. The visiting players and family members provide an economic boost for area businesses in January.”
Spectators are welcome to watch these professionals at no cost. Food and beverages will be available for purchase for players and spectators. Thanks to a partnership with Wisconsin Distributors, Bud Light will be the featured beverage of the tournament. Tournament play will begin early on both Friday and Saturday with matches lasting into the evening on both days. Watch the American Cornhole Organization Facebook event page for more information on this year’s schedule of events.
Additionally, on January 9th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Eclipse Event Center, there will be a Business After Hours and Business After Five Charity Cornhole Competition. Visit Beloit, the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce, and Forward Janesville are partnering on this charitable event and all proceeds will go to Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Tournament players will need to pre-register using the link on greaterbeloitchamber.org for a chance to play on professional ACO boards. Only 64 players can participate, and the registration fee is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. For those wanting to watch and network while enjoying snacks and beverages, the admission fee for members is $5, or $15 for non-members.
“Family Services is thrilled to be invited as a partner for this wonderful event,” says Kelsey Hood, President & CEO of Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. “Our partnerships with the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce and Forward Janesville Inc. are so valuable and we can’t think of a better way to enjoy a Business After Hours than with a friendly cornhole competition. As a beneficiary, these proceeds will help Family Services to support our mission in restoring and sustaining the lives in our community as they seek self-sufficiency. We are so appreciative and looking forward to the event.
