Claim Your Spot for the 2026 Beloit Kubb Open Presented by Beepa’s

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 27, 2026

BELOIT, Wis. – Embrace the thrill of competition as Visit Beloit proudly announces the Beloit Kubb Open presented by Beepa’s, set to take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m. The tournament will be held at Pohlman Field in Beloit, in the outfield of the former home stadium of Minor League Baseball’s Beloit Snappers (now the Beloit Sky Carp). Gear up for a fun day filled with camaraderie, skill, and excitement as participants take part in the popular backyard wood-throwing game.

Registration for the tournament opens Sunday, March 29, 2026, welcoming kubb enthusiasts of all skill levels to join in on the action and earn cash prizes at the end of the event. On average, the tournament has distributed approximately $1,100 annually in prize money to the top players. In total, the event has awarded more than $12,000 since its inception in 2014.

The event is owned and managed by Visit Beloit, along with expert guidance from the event director, Dan Ivanuck. The Beloit Kubb Open will be an action-packed day of excitement during the twelfth kubb competition hosted in Beloit and will showcase all that the community has to offer. The 2026 Beloit Kubb Open is presented by Beepa’s, our Tourism Champion sponsor for this year’s tournament. Beepa’s is a locally owned, family-operated business known for its hand-selected produce and family recipes used to craft sauces, pickled vegetables, and more. Beepa’s has generously donated products, so keep an eye out on Visit Beloit’s social channels for giveaways.

“We are excited to welcome the kubb community back to Beloit for the Beloit Kubb Open presented by Beepa’s,” stated Matthew Bosen, Director of Sales and Servicing with Visit Beloit. “Whether you have played for years or are competing for the first time, the sport of kubb offers a welcoming environment with an opportunity to interact with a lot of great people from around the Midwest.  We typically host around 43 teams each year and this year we hope to exceed 50 teams with the new format.”

This summer’s tournament will feature a new twist. There will be two separate brackets to ensure players of all skill levels feel welcome. The Competitive Division will include seven qualifying rounds, while the Recreational Division will consist of five qualifying rounds. All teams in the Competitive Division advance to the bracket, while only the top four in the Recreational Division will play for a title. The champions of both divisions will be crowned with awards designed by students at Hendricks CareerTek and prize money doled out.

Attendees, whether spectators or participants, will also have the opportunity to extend their support to the Beloit Youth Hockey Association (BYHA), as the organization will be on-site offering food and beverages for purchase, with proceeds benefitting their local athletic programs.

To get excited about the tournament this year, there will be an availability of exclusive 2026 Beloit Kubb Open merchandise. Thanks to a partnership with Walnut Creek Apparel & Gifts in downtown Beloit, attendees can now showcase their competitive spirit in style with a selection of trendy shirts, tanks, sweatshirts, and water bottles for purchase.
