Visit Beloit Releases Date for 2026 Beloit Kubb Open Presented by Beepa’s

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 19 2026

BELOIT, Wis. – Embrace the thrill of competition as Visit Beloit proudly announces the Beloit Kubb Open presented by Beepa’s, set to take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, beginning at 9 a.m. The tournament will be held at Pohlman Field in Beloit, in the outfield of the former home stadium of Minor League Baseball’s Beloit Snappers (now the Beloit Sky Carp). Gear up for a fun day filled with camaraderie, skill, and excitement as participants take part in the popular backyard wood-throwing game.

Registration for the tournament will officially open on March 29, 2026, welcoming kubb enthusiasts of all skill levels to join in on the action and earn cash prizes at the end of the event. On average, the tournament has distributed approximately $1,100 annually in prize money to the top players. In total, the event has awarded more than $12,000 since its inception in 2014. Beloit Youth Hockey Association (BYHA) will be selling food and beverages during the tournament to raise funds for their program. Spectators are invited to attend the tournament free of charge and are encouraged to purchase concessions while cheering on teams to help support BYHA.

The event is owned and managed by Visit Beloit along with the expert guidance from event director, Dan Ivanuck. The Beloit Kubb Open will bring an action-packed day of excitement during the twelfth kubb competition hosted in Beloit and will showcase all that the community has to offer. The 2026 Beloit Kubb Open is presented by Beepa’s, our Tourism Champion sponsor for this year’s tournament. Beepa’s is a locally owned, family-operated business known for its hand-selected produce and family recipes used to craft sauces, pickled vegetables, and more.

“We will welcome our 500th team in 2026 with our expectations of a tournament field featuring forty-plus teams again this summer for our 12th annual kubb tournament in Beloit,” says Matthew Bosen, Director of Sales & Servicing with Visit Beloit. “In 2018, we were the first kubb tournament in the United States to be televised when we partnered with FOX Sports Wisconsin, and we are excited to add another wrinkle in 2026 by splitting the tournament field into competitive and recreational pools. We believe the change will offer increased and balanced competition.”

This summer’s tournament will feature a new twist. There will be two separate brackets to ensure players of all skill levels feel welcome. The Competitive Division will include seven qualifying rounds, while the Recreational Division will consist of five qualifying rounds. Top teams from each division will advance to the championship round, immediately following qualifying, and crown the champions of both divisions.

Interested participants may register beginning March 29, 2026. Additional tournament information, including official rules and gameplay details, are available at visitbeloit.com/kubb or by emailing matt@visitbeloit.com.
