BELOIT, Wis. – As May rolls in, the Greater Beloit Area kicks off another exciting season of summer events. It’s the perfect time to start planning, with a variety of returning favorites and new experiences filling the calendar. From family-friendly outings to lively nights out, there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of the warmer months in the Stateline Area.
“With events like the Downtown Beloit Outdoor Farmers’ Market, Sky Carp games, live music at local festivals, and historical tours at Beckman Mill, May is a month full of fun with a chance to get outdoors,” says Savannah Schindler, Director of Communications with Visit Beloit. Cinco de Drinko Weekend | Friday, May 1 – Tuesday, May 5 | truk’t
- Truk’t, a street taco and tequila spot in downtown Beloit, is giving guests a fun way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a weekend-long experience. Stop in for margarita flights, tacos, and a lively atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to stop during the first outdoor farmers’ market or for their Boozy Brunch over the weekend.
Beloit Farmers’ Market | Every Saturday, May – October, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Downtown Beloit
- The Downtown Beloit Farmers’ Market returns outdoors on Saturday, May 2! With more than 130 vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, and so much more, it’s the second-largest farmers’ market in Wisconsin, drawing more than 6,000 visitors each week. In addition to shopping, enjoy live music, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and explore the downtown businesses.
May Day Faerie Festival | Saturday, May 2, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Settlers Park
- Celebrate the arrival of spring with a European tradition that dates back more than 1,000 years. Dress in your favorite fantasy, Renaissance, or mystical creature costume and enjoy a full day of festivities featuring maypole dancing, live music, vendors, food trucks, and more.
Guided Tours | Every Saturday & Sunday, May – November, 1-4 p.m. | Beckman Mill
- Beckman Mill, a 50-acre park featuring a restored 1868 grist mill, dam, and mill pond, opens for the season on May 2 with a special celebration from 12-4 p.m. Guests can enjoy corn grinding demonstrations, blacksmith workshops, food and drinks, tours, and more. Guided tours are offered every weekend, with additional demonstrations on the first Saturday of each month.
Hospitality Breakfast & Award Ceremony | Wednesday, May 6, 7:30-9 a.m. | The 1914 at Visit Beloit
- Visit Beloit will host its Hospitality Breakfast & Award Ceremony in honor of National Travel & Tourism Week, celebrating local tourism partners and hospitality professionals. The event includes a breakfast buffet, a speaker, a State of the Industry Address, and a ribbon cutting for The 1914 at Visit Beloit. The Outstanding Frontline Employee Award will also be presented, and tickets are available online through Saturday, May 2.
Tacos, Tequila, & Tunes | Every Thursday, May – September, 6-9 p.m. | truk’t
- Kick off the weekend early at truk’t with tacos, margaritas, and live local music every Thursday starting May 7. Relax on the patio and enjoy the open-air feel as the garage door windows lift during the warmer months. Check out the full lineup of artists online.

Cruise Night at the Museum | Wednesday, May 13, 5-8 p.m. | Historic Attractions
- For family fun during the week, stop by Historic Attractions to see a showcase of antique and vintage cars, enjoy live music, and grab dinner from the food vendor. This free event also includes discounted admission to the museum and is the kickoff of a monthly series happening the second week of each month through September.
Rockton Pelican Fest | Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Downtown Rockton
- Fly over to the Rockton Pelican Fest, happening in Downtown Rockton. Celebrate the annual return of the American White Pelicans and other migrating birds to the Rock River. Enjoy a free shuttle to Nygren Wetland Preserve for a tour, along with family-friendly activities, shopping, food and beverages, and the culture of the historic Village of Rockton.
Rockton River Market | Every Wednesday, May – August, 5-8 p.m. | Settlers Park
- Come for the shopping and stay for the music at the Rockton River Market. Each week features performances by regional bands from the Stateline Area, playing everything from rock and country to pop and more. The market includes a variety of food and craft vendors. Bring your lawn chair, blanket, and even your dog to downtown Rockton every Wednesday for this free concert series.
Rock the River Music Series | Every Saturday, May – September, 6:30-9:30 p.m. | Henry Dorrbaker’s
- Enjoy a laid-back summer concert series held along the riverfront at Henry Dorrbaker’s, Beloit’s newest Pub & Play. Beginning the last Saturday in May, the series features live music every Saturday evening. Enjoy food, drinks, and games indoors and outdoors.
Vintage & Makers Outdoor Market | Saturday, May 30, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Best of Beloit Vintage Mall
Experience a full day of shopping featuring a curated mix of vintage collectors, antique vendors, and local artisans. Browse unique finds, handmade goods, and more while enjoying live music and a food truck on-site. This event is family-friendly and free to attend.
