Beloit & Vicinity Exhibition – Opening Reception

The Wright Museum of Art at Beloit College will host its 66th Annual Beloit &
Vicinity Exhibition this year from June 1 to July 26. A call for art is open to area artists through
March 31. Beloit & Vicinity is open to all artists residing in Wisconsin and neighboring states.
Original works created by artists, which have not been previously entered in the exhibit are
eligible. Painting, sculptures, drawings, textiles, performance pieces, and photographs are
accepted. This year’s jurors are Colin Matthes, Gallery Director at UW Parkside and Roberto
Torres Mata, from The UW Center for Design and Materials Culture and School of Human
Ecology.

Beloit & Vicinity has been recognized as one of the oldest regional juried art shows in the state
of Wisconsin. An opening reception for this year’s exhibit will be held in the North Gallery on
June 1, from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm with awards at 5:30 pm. In addition, last year’s Juror Award
Winner Leah Mitchell will be featured in a solo exhibit in the Hollensteiner Gallery
