National Travel & Tourism Week is May 19-25, 2024 and Visit Beloit has organized a lineup of activities to celebrate
Day 1: Sunday, May 19th
- We are all about supporting travel and tourism in our Beloit and Stateline area communities! Keep an eye out for this blog across our Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn social media channels. If you join in on any of our exciting activities this week, be sure to mention us with @VisitBeloit and use the hashtags #VisitBeloit and #NTTW24.
Day 2: Monday, May 20th
- Our Marketing and Public Relations team has created an exclusive video featuring some of our partners, enthusiastically welcoming you to Beloit! Stay tuned for this video on our TikTok (@visitbeloitwi) and Instagram and Facebook (@visitbeloit). Don’t forget to follow us and catch our updates throughout the week to stay in the loop on our channels all year round.
Day 3: Tuesday, May 21st
- We’re honored to receive a proclamation from the Beloit City Council! Check out the announcement on our social media platforms.
- Explore Beloit and show some love to local eateries! Join us in encouraging both locals and visitors to drop by their favorite spot and grab a meal to go, all in celebration of “Take-Out Tuesday!” Start planning your Tuesday lunch or dinner now!
Day 4: Wednesday, May 22nd
- Discover the various diverse-owned businesses in Beloit by visiting our website. Navigate through the dropdown menus on the homepage to explore activities such as things to do, eat and drink, and stay. On the left side of the page, utilize the filter option to locate diverse-owned businesses. We are proud to promote diversity within the hospitality industry through this special feature!
Day 5: Thursday, May 23rd
- We will be hosting a quarterly Tourism Roundtable meeting for partners of Visit Beloit. Partners gather at this meeting to share exciting news about their businesses and to get a quarterly update from Visit Beloit. To thank our partners for working hard on the frontlines of tourism, we will be providing lunch. If you are a Visit Beloit partner and did not see the invite for this meeting, please email info@visitbeloit.com.
- If you are looking for something fun to do, check out our Beloit & Beyond Passport Trails. Visit Beloit features five digital passport trails designed not only for tourists but also for locals to explore. It’s a great way to discover and enjoy new places you may not have visited before. Plus, it’s an opportunity to win Beloit-themed prizes! Our five trails include the Outdoor Art Trail, Loved by Locals Trail, Beers & Cheers Trail, Historical Walking Trail, and Taco Trail. Sign up for the trails on our website, check-in at the locations you visit using your phone, and once you accumulate enough check-ins, you’ll be on your way to earning fantastic Beloit prizes!
- Completing any of our trails automatically enters you to win the Passport Trail Grand Prize! One lucky winner will be chosen at the end of the year for a two-night stay at Ironworks Hotel, a Beloit cooler stuffed with beer and wine, a Beloit cribbage board and Beloit deck of Cards from Walnut Creek Apparel & Gifts, a Wisconsin map bottle cap display, a $40 gift card to use at The Rock Bar & Grill, and a $100 gift card to use at any of the Geronimo Hospitality restaurants.
Day 6: Friday, May 24th
- Visit Beloit will be presenting an Outstanding Frontline Employee Award to one Visit Beloit partner who has gone above and beyond their daily duties while presenting a high level of customer service and care to Beloit visitors. Tony and Beth Bonasera have been awarded the Visit Beloit Outstanding Frontline Employee Award for presenting a high level of customer service and care to the visitors at 1810 Emerson House. Tony and Beth have always gone out of their way to make sure their guests feel comfortable and at home. Offering the highest level of hospitality while personalizing their guests’ experience and pampering each guest with home-made breakfast. In the evening upon arrival, a delectable antipasto plate with an assortment of tasty appetizers is always offered along with complimentary wine. And it’s no secret that Tony and Beth have a deep love for Beloit and are two of Beloit’s greatest ambassadors. They make sure to share all the wonderful things there is to do in Beloit with their guests while sharing the history of Beloit with them. Tony and Beth, we thank you for your service and care to our visitors and wish you many more years of great success.

- Sabrina Krejci for going above and beyond her roles as Director of Hospitality and Marketing for the Beloit International Film Festival. Her attitude is upbeat, she is unafraid of challenges, she’s a great workmate, and our filmmakers love the TLC she shows to each and every one them.
- Darrell Hereford and Jeff Kunkle for going the extra mile while welcoming visitors to Wisconsin at the Wisconsin Welcome Center-Beloit. Travelers love talking with them. They are always willing to go the extra mile for their team and for our visitors.
- Kerry Frank, owner of Hidden Creek Estates, has been a key part of the growth of our community in an extremely impactful way. She continues to mentor her staff and positively develop those around her to continue the growth of strong professionals that can impact businesses in our community. Her vision of Hidden Creek Estates becoming a tourist destination has become a reality.
- Gayle Listenbee, Library Service Specialist at Beloit Public Library, always has a warm greeting for everyone who comes through our doors. She is a resource for staff members and customers and handles all situations with kindness.
Day 7: Saturday, May 25th
- Enjoy sipping and shopping at our locally-owned businesses, where you can indulge in locally crafted beverages! Whether it’s coffee, non-alcoholic drinks, wine, beer, or spirits, our restaurants and bars offer a diverse selection to savor as you browse through our boutiques and specialty stores.
In addition to our fantastic lineup of events to celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week, The Wisconsin Welcome Center – Beloit team will be offering complimentary cheese samples courtesy of Alp and Dell Cheese Store in Monroe, WI! Swing by during your adventures this week to savor a slice of Wisconsin!
Wisconsin Welcome Center – Beloit is located on Interstate 39 Northbound/ 90 Westbound just as you enter Wisconsin from Illinois. Formerly operated by the State Department of Tourism, and is currently operated locally by Visit Beloit. The staff is trained to help with all your travel needs locally and throughout the entire state. Stop in for an Official Wisconsin State Map, a visitor guide, directions, weather forecast, information regarding road construction or just to say hello to our friendly staff.
The hours are as follows: Monday – Saturday: 9:00 am-4:00 pm and Sunday: 10:00 am-3:00 pm.
