BELOIT, Wis. – As winter settles into the Stateline Area, December becomes a month filled with holiday cheer, community traditions, and festive attractions. From sparkling lights to seasonal events, local businesses and organizations are offering countless ways to celebrate the spirit of the season.

Home Run Holiday Lights | November 14 – January 4, 5-9 p.m. | ABC Supply Stadium
- New this year at ABC Supply Stadium, home of the Beloit Sky Carp, is the Home Run Holiday Light Show. This festive, family-friendly ongoing event features more than one million lights synchronized to holiday music, a walk-through display, kids’ train rides, crafts, a Santa letter station, themed nights, character appearances, and a digital scavenger hunt. On-field igloos and fire pits are available to rent, with food and drinks available for purchase. The attraction is open nightly from 5-9 p.m. but will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Tickets can be purchased online or at the stadium.
Holiday Activities & Events | Now – December 21 | Williams Tree Farm
- For a fun-filled holiday outing with the whole family, visit Williams Tree Farm. They have various seasonal activities for both children and adults to enjoy. Check our website calendar for events throughout the month of December. Pick out the perfect tree to take home and decorate, have the kids pet the animals, and enjoy shopping when you visit.
Open Ice Skating | Every Friday & Saturday, 7-9 p.m. & Sunday, 2-4 p.m. | Edwards Ice Arena
- Stop by Edwards Ice Arena throughout the winter for ice skating fun! Public skating sessions are offered on Friday through Sunday until early spring. If you don’t have your own skates, rentals are available for just $3 per pair. For those who need extra help on the ice, skate aids are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. A small fee applies to participate in the skate sessions.
Winter Crafter & Farmers’ Market | Every Saturday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., November – April | Downtown Beloit Association
- The Beloit Farmers’ Market continues year-round, even though the open-air market is over for the season! Visit to purchase produce, cheese, eggs, honey, meat, crafts, soaps, and other miscellaneous items. Grab lunch from the food truck while you are there and look for free, family-friendly activities in the market.
South Beloit Tree Lighting | Friday, December 5, 4:30-6 p.m. | Nature at The Confluence
- Nature at The Confluence is hosting its annual tree-lighting tradition ceremony, along with marshmallow roasting, hot cocoa, a luminary nature walk, holiday crafts, family photo opportunities, and a caroling performance. This is a free, family-friendly community event.
First Friday Gallery Reception | Friday, December 5, 5-7 p.m. | Beloit Art Center
- Visit the Beloit Art Center on the first Friday of each month for the Opening Reception of new exhibits. Local and regional artists will have their artwork featured in both the Bell and Sveum Galleries. This event is free and open to the public, with refreshments available.
Holidazzle | Friday, December 5, 5-9 p.m. | Downtown Beloit
- Spend an evening in downtown Beloit checking off your holiday list as more than 25 local shops and artisan vendors stay open late. Enjoy free trolley rides, live music, Santa visits, festive treats, and plenty of shopping. New this year: weekend-long business specials, extended Winter Crafter & Farmers’ Market hours on Saturday until 2 p.m., a Hot Cocoa Crawl on Saturday, and a Santa Bar Crawl on Sunday.
Rockton Christmas Walk | Friday, December 5 – Sunday, December 7 | Downtown Rockton
- Celebrate more than 40 years of holiday tradition at the Rockton Christmas Walk, a full weekend of festive events. Highlights include the Lighting of Village Green Park and the Lighted Parade through downtown Rockton. Enjoy additional activities such as Dueling Pianos, an Ugly Christmas Sweater Pub Crawl, Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides, a Historic Home Tour, and more.
Truffle & Wine Dinner | Thursday, December 11, 6:30 p.m. | Hidden Creek Estates
- Enjoy an intimate four-course dining experience at Hidden Creek Estates, featuring black and white truffles sourced from Italy. Each course is paired with wine, while truffle expert Giacomo Marinello shares stories about his family’s truffle traditions. Seating is limited, reservations are required, and tickets can be purchased online.
The Ghosts of Christmas Past | Friday, December 12, 7-9 p.m. | Historic Attractions
- Historic Attractions is teaming up with Haunted Rockford for a one-of-a-kind holiday event. Guests will hear eerie holiday stories, explore the haunted history of Historic Attractions, and learn about ghostly encounters reported by staff and visitors. After the presentation, attendees can tour the museum and view its most haunted exhibits. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
Sips of the Season Holiday Cocktail Dinner | Wednesday, December 17, 5-8 p.m. | The Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin
- Make a festive night out with Sips of the Season Holiday Cocktail Dinner. Savor a multi-course menu and holiday-themed cocktails while enjoying beautiful views of downtown Beloit from The Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin. Tickets can be purchased online, seating is limited.
