Visit Beloit Celebrates National Travel & Tourism Week

BELOIT, Wis. – National Travel & Tourism Week (NTTW) is an annual celebration of the essential importance of the travel industry organized by U.S. Travel Association. The theme for 2025 is “Celebrating the power of travel to fuel economies, strengthen communities and connect America,” which the Wisconsin Department of Tourism is localizing to “Celebrate the power of travel to fuel economies, strengthen communities and connect Wisconsin.” This theme relays the economic significance of tourism while exploring the deeper connections and lesser-known stories of the power of tourism.
Join us May 4-10 in celebrating NTTW and help highlight our industry’s undeniable impact! Travel matters to Beloit. This NTTW, Visit Beloit has organized a lineup of activities to celebrate.
- Sunday, May 4 – Visit Beloit will share a blog of the itinerary for the week on social media platforms. We are also inviting both locals and visitors to stop by the Wisconsin Welcome Center – Beloit for complimentary cheese samples available all week. The visitor center is conveniently located on I-39 Northbound/I-90 Westbound, right as you enter Wisconsin from Illinois.
- Monday, May 5 – Visit Beloit encourages locals and visitors to share photos of their family and friends enjoying Beloit’s shops, restaurants, hotels, attractions, and more for a chance to win two tickets to the Downtown Beloit Street Dance and a $25 gift card to Northwoods Premium Confections. Details on how to enter will be posted on our social media platforms.
- Tuesday, May 6 – Visit Beloit’s Marketing and Public Relations team has created an exclusive video on social media platforms featuring various Beloit & Beyond Passport Trail stops. We encourage locals and visitors to explore new places by signing up for the passport trails. There are four digital trails to choose from. Sign up through our website, check-in to locations, and earn Beloit-themed prizes.
- Wednesday, May 7 – Visit Beloit’s Marketing and Public Relations team has created an exclusive video featuring a handful of our tourism partners, who share their top recommendations for first-time visitors to Beloit. The video will be shared on social media platforms.
- Thursday, May 8 – Visit Beloit will be hosting a quarterly Tourism Roundtable meeting for partners of Visit Beloit at their brand-new event space. Partners gather at this meeting to share exciting news about their businesses and to get a quarterly update from Visit Beloit. To thank our partners, we will be providing appetizers from a local caterer, and a cash bar will be available. Additionally, Visit Beloit will present an Outstanding Frontline Employee Award to one Visit Beloit partner who has gone above and beyond their daily duties by presenting a high level of customer service and care to Beloit visitors.
- Friday, May 9 – Visit Beloit’s Marketing and Public Relations team has created an exclusive video on social media platforms featuring a Family Fun Beloit Bucket List. We encourage locals and visitors to experience these fun activities as well as snap a selfie with the Welcome to Wisconsin sign at the Wisconsin Welcome Center – Beloit.
- Saturday, May 10 – We are encouraging locals and visitors to eat, drink, and shop at our new locally-owned businesses. In 2024 alone, more than five tourism-related businesses opened their doors for locals and visitors to enjoy. - Generated a record-breaking $25 billion in economic impact.
- Supported more than 178,000 full and part-time jobs.
- Welcomed 113 million visits to Wisconsin.
- Contributed $1.6 billion to state and local taxes.
Locally, Rock County tourism in 2023:
- Generated $456 million in economic impact.
- Supported 3,726 full and part-time jobs.
- Contributed $29.4 million to state and local taxes.
