Hear from a Beloit Explorer

Tracy Bliss, a longtime local and Visit Beloit’s Director of Marketing & Public Relations, recently completed the Loved by Locals Trail with her two twin sons. As one of the creators and promoters of the Beloit & Beyond Passport Trail program, Tracy loved learning more about the stops as she explored them.
One of her family’s favorite stops was Coral Cove Family Fun Center, as it’s a hidden gem full of video games and bounce houses. “The boys played games, won tickets for prizes, and then jumped around until they were exhausted,” said Tracy. Another favorite coming in close to first was visiting ABC Supply Stadium for a Beloit Sky Carp game, which is always fun thanks to Poopsie the mascot. The Loved by Locals Trail includes several great places to grab ice cream that everyone in the family can enjoy. Even your dog can join you at Dari Ripple in South Beloit, IL, for a special Doggie Delight.
The trail also inspired some exciting first-time visits. Tracy and her family checked out Henry Dorrbaker’s, where they played duckpin bowling, tested their skills on the racing simulators, and enjoyed indoor mini golf and great food. Another unexpected favorite was Dos Amigos Taqueria in South Beloit. “After my first visit there, I was kicking myself for not going sooner. The Mexican food there is out of this world,” she said.
Reflecting on the experience, Tracy shared, “The trail was a great way to get the family out to try new things in the city we all know and love. From tacos to our favorite pizza spots, sweet desserts, coffee for mom, and fun activities like bowling at Viking Lanes and duckpin bowling at Henry Dorrbaker’s, I’m glad we did this together. Since completing the trail, Tracy received a cozy Beloit blanket, which she describes as perfect for taking to whatever adventure we go on next.
